Gilda Ray Cale

GILDA M. CALE MIDDLEBROOK, VA Gilda Ray (Moyer) Cale, 82, widow of John Edward Cale, of 937 Cales Springs Road, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born March 11, 1930, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Samuel N. and Virginia (Morris) Moyer. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Cale was employed by DeJarnettes as an LPN. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother; six sisters; and a special friend, Cecil Smith. Family members include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" C. Grogg, Elizabeth "Betty" and J. R. Coleman, and Virginia "Ginny" and Sonny Davis; a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Shirley Moyer; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, in Third Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Richard S. Dietrich. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Callison, Billy Smiley, Buddy Smiley, Dale Smith, Bill Smith, Dew Whisnant, Bob Varner, and Frank Shiflett. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Betty Coleman, 1349 Middlebrook Road, Staunton.
