Gladys Beartrice Montgerard

GLADYS B. MONTGERARD STAUNTON - Gladys Beatrice "Miss Monty" (Loso) Montgerard, 99, widow of Henry V. Montgerard, died at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 in King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 14, 1913 in Randolph, Vermont, daughter of Stanley C. and Elizabeth (Burnell) Loso. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Miss Monty was the owner and operator of Monty's Café in the 1950s and 1960s. Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Marylou and Mike Digrassie of Staunton; six grandchildren, Aaron Digrassie and his wife Nicole, of Staunton, Dr. Wynne Digrassie and her husband Dr. Scott Reiners, of Raphine, Beth Hendrix, Rhonda Mull and her husband Rodney, Hank Montgerard II and his wife, Christy, and Mark Montgerard and his wife Sharon; ten great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Montgerard; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley C. Montgerard; four sisters, Gertrude Tucker, Lorraine Aubin, Edna Shannon, and May Passno; and a brother. A Christian Wake will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (August 29, 2012) in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Thornrose Cemetery will be private.
