Glenn Hartwell Patterson, Sr.

GLENN H. PATTERSON, SR.  STAUNTON, VA… Glenn Hartwell Patterson, Sr., 81, widower of Louise Maggie (Wolfe) Patterson, of Staunton, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Augusta Health. He was born May 7, 1936, in Vance County, North Carolina, a son of the late Douglas Edward and Mary Belle (Patterson) Patterson. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Tyco. Mr. Patterson was a member of First Baptist Church. Everyone that knew Glenn over the years knew his history and that he was a great man.   Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Michele Patterson of Staunton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Robert Brown of Greenville and Sharon and Dennis Lambert of Swoope; three brothers; three sisters; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and Bonnie Brickles of Bullock, NC. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Baldwin Patterson; three brothers; and three sisters. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Jr., Gregory Brown, Michael Brown, Michael Garnett, Colton Patterson, and Douglas Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2017 in the funeral home.
