GRACIE B. HARRIS  STAUNTON, VA… Gracie Mae (Brown) Harris, 78, widow of Frederick Saylor Harris, of Staunton, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born April 26, 1939 in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Grayson D. and Willie Mae (McCauley) Brown.  Prior to retirement, she was employed by Genesco and she attended Allen Chapel AME Church.   Family members include a son, Lee Harris of Richmond; two daughters, Tamara Harris of Staunton and Christy Brown of Waynesboro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, George H. and Drucilla Brown and Rohr Brown, all of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Latasha D. Harris, Rumeall Strother, Tammara Harris, Amerio Brown, Ramone Brown, Tamika Harris, and Jasmine Harris; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Saylor A. Harris and Paul O. Harris; a brother, Elmer H. Brown; and a sister, Clifford M. Mickens.  A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Edward A. Scott.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 in the funeral home.
