Gustave Poletis

GUSTAVE POLETIS STAUNTON, VA Gustave "Chet" Poletis, 86, of 107 Community Way, died July 17, 2012 in King's Daughters' Rehab Center. He was born May 1, 1926, in Miami, Florida a son of the late Augustus and Mary (Laroux) Poletis. Mr. Poletis was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the State of Michigan. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Gloria (Ellington) Poletis; two brothers, Andrew Poletis and George Keshian; and a sister, Anna K. Schilk. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Joan Poletis of Holland, Michigan; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Bill Miracle of Bridgewater; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. As he wished, there will be no services and his ashes will be scattered on the Appalachian Trail. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
