Gary R. Bartley

Gary Randolph Bartley, 57, beloved husband of Billie Jean (Ticknor) Bartley, of Swoope, died Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 29, 1963, in Staunton, a son of the late Randolph T. and Bernice G. (Campbell) Bartley.

Mr. Bartley was employed by Woodrow Wilson Birthplace for four years and Central Transportation for 22 years.

He enjoyed farming and loved his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his wife of 35 years, family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chad Bartley of Staunton and Jonathan and Danielle Bartley of Swoope; three siblings, Sharon Mutherspaw, Charles Chandler, and Peggy Ralston, all of Staunton; a sister-in-law, Annabelle Chandler, of Staunton; grandchildren, Carrie Jo Bartley, Chance Diaz, Breanna Bartley, Jacob Bartley, Maddie Bartley, Kenley McLear, and Luke Bartley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David T. Chandler.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2021, at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John Tilley. Burial will follow in Haines Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Robbie Shifflett, Brandon Mutherspaw, David Chandler, Chance Diaz, Chad Bartley, Jonathan Bartley, Mark Singer, and John Evans.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021, in the funeral home.
