Harold Dallas Godby

HAROLD D. GODBY  STUARTS DRAFT, VA…  Harold Dallas Godby, 88, husband of Lucy (Drummond) Godby, of Gloucester Road, died Friday July 15, 2016.  He was born on September 18, 1927 in Corliss, WV, a son of the late George Oliver and Mary (Buckland) Godby.   Mr. Godby was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII.  He was a sales associate for JC Penney in Staunton and retired after 39 years of service.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Michelle Godby of Fishersville; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Charlotte Godby of Polk City, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Christine and John Vance of Redhouse, WV and Judy Gunder of Charmco, WV; and five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Booth, in 2007.  A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Edward Avenue Baptist Church by Pastor Gary May and special friend, Stan Cordell.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in Henry Funeral Home.
