Harold Edward Thorne

HAROLD E. THORNE WAYNESBORO, VA Harold Edward Thorne, 85, husband of Lillian (Crist) Thorne, of Waynesboro, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Augusta Health. He was born June 8, 1929, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John and Effie (Chittum) Thorne. Mr. Thorne was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Wayn-Tex as a machine operator. He was a membor of Waynesboro VFW Post 2424 and the American Legion Post 340. He was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church in Waynesboro. In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, family members include his loving daughter, Retter Dianne Thorne of Waynesboro; two brothers, Jerry Thorne of Fairfield and Donald Thorne of Buena Vista; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015, in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Ryan Schaeffer. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
