HELEN R. CHANDLER CRIMORA, VA Helen Gay (Rasnick) Chandler, 75, widow of Roscoe Brisco Chandler, of Crimora, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Ritenour Rest Home. She was born October 22, 1938, in Berlin, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Fay Rasnick. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Western State Hospital. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Barton; a daughter, Brenda Gail Barton; four brothers, Johnny Rasnick, Willard Rasnick, Conley Rasnick, and James Rasnick; and two sisters, Sue Chaplain and Marie Wilson. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy Chandler of Stuarts Draft; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Roy Cubbage of Salem; a sister, Violet Baker of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Jennifer Glass, Melissa Harris, Amber Morris, Keely Davis, Lucas and Jessica Barton; three great grandchildren, Kaleigh Marie Glass, K.C. Maxey, and Keegan Davis; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Pastor Dave Kite. Active pallbearers will be Walter Chaplain, Billy Chaplain, David Wilson, and Melvin Morris. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Henry Funeral Home.
