HELEN R. DOYLE RAPHINE, VA Helen Louise (Rowe) Doyle, 79, wife of Elmer Franklin Doyle, of 4159 Cold Springs Road, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born September 18, 1932, in Lofton, a daughter of the late Russell Walton and Julia Helen (Harvey) Rowe. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Doyle was employed by GE of Waynesboro and Genicom retiring at the age of 65. She was a member of Pine's Chapel Presbyterian Church where she served as treasurer of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Women of the church. She liked crossword puzzles, embroidery, loved to cook and loved birds and flowers. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to play jokes on people. In addition to her husband of 63 years, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Gordon and Sissy Doyle of Raphine, and Richard Walton and Alice Doyle of Lavonia, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet Gail (Doyle) and Dean Harris of Waynesboro; a brother, Robert Elmer Rowe of Raphine; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Locklear of Raphine and Rosalee and David Miller of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Tonya Doyle of Atlanta, GA and Amy Doyle, of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter-in-law, Robert Franklin and Patricia Elizabeth Doyle. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Isca Mitchell and Merle Fisher. Burial will follow in Pines Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be D.W. Miller, Jr. Rowe, Jeff Marks, Robbie Rowe, Jerry Phillips, Danny Myrtle, Carson Moran, Tony Fitzgerald, and Tony Harvey. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pines Chapel, Building Fund, Box 588, Greenville, VA 24440.
