HENRY J. KISER STAUNTON, VA Henry Jackson Kiser, 83, husband of Nancy (Moore) Kiser, of 507 Grubert Ave., went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at his residence. He was born October 4, 1928, in Augusta County a son of the late John Cleveland and Anna (Brake) Kiser. Mr. Kiser was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Tommy's Pajama Factory with 30 years of service. Following retirement, he was employed as a custodian by First Baptist Church. He was a member of Fifth Street United Brethren Church. In addition to his wife of 61 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Robin Kiser of New Hope; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and A. D. Shinaberry of Deerfield, Susan and Gary Kennedy of Staunton, and Connie and Buddy Wagner of Swoope; a brother, Wade Kiser of Staunton; two sisters, Dorotha Brown and Bettie Arey of Staunton; ten grandchildren, Dana Ramsey, Ashley Shinaberry, Jeremy Kennedy, Stephanie Wagner, Kimberly Robertson, Shannon Kiser, Eric Kiser, Crystal Shifflett, Tabitha Kiser, and Devyn Kiser; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Malcom Kiser; two brothers, Albert and John Kiser; and a sister, Nellie Hunter. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harry Moore. Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers Ashley Shinaberry, Jeremy Kennedy, Shannon Kiser, Eric Kiser, Dale Ramsey, Jake Leonard, Junior Hodge, and Steve Conrad. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
