HOMER R. MOYERS, SR.STAUNTON, VA… Homer Richard Moyers, Sr., 91, widower of Ellen Celia (White) Moyers, of 14 Frontier Ridge Court, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at his residence. He was born March 18, 1926 in Moyers, West Virginia, a son of the late Henry and Edna Lee (Rexrode) Moyers. Mr. Moyers was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a truck driver and dairy farmer. He was a member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by sons, Rodney and Calvin Moyers; a sister, Mary Frances Mitchell; and a brother, Forest Moyers. Family members include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Homer R., Moyers Jr., and Penney Dyer of Texas, Andrew J. Moyers of Clover Hill, Leslie C. and Toby Moyers of Louisiana, Anthony T. and Kim Moyers of Ruckersville, and Dale S. and Amy Moyers of Waynesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth E. and Ronald Ryman of Staunton; two brothers, Jasper and Dyer Moyers; a sister Charlotte Kibler; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. Mark Briehl and Rev. Kenneth Price. Burial will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 in Aurora Cemetery 221 German Settlement Way, Aurora, West Virginia.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home.
