Horace Lair Stewart

HORACE L. STEWART STAUNTON, VA Horace Lair Stewart, 90, husband of Mildred Stewart, of 344 Baldwin Lane, Staunton, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born February 8, 1922, in Craigsville, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Bartley) Stewart. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Patrick and Sylvia Stewart and Michael Lair Stewart, all of Staunton; his wife's children, Janice Shaver and her husband, Tommy, and Eddie Briggs and his wife, Barbara; two grandchildren, Todd Stewart and his wife, Nina of Staunton and Zachary Stewart and his wife, Alexandra, of Waynesboro; two great grandchildren, John Nicholas Corey and Gunnar Douglas Stewart; two grandsons, Michael and Mark Shaver and their children, Rachel, Dallas, Dillon, and Hunter; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor. Burial will be private.
