HOWARD E. “BO” CHANDLER, SR. STAUNTON, VA… Howard Edward “Bo” Chandler, Sr., of 1611 West Beverley Street, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem. He was born November 24, 1935, in Augusta County, a son of the late Harry H. and Elsie (Lotts) Chandler. Mr. Chandler was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Gunners Mate during the Korean War on USS Newport News, CA-148. Prior to retirement, he was the owner and founder of Staunton Termite with 50 years of service. He was a member of Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Carl F. Chandler; and sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Maddox Family members include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Howard E. “Bubby”, Jr., and Teresa “Pebbles” Chandler, Scott H. Chandler, and Christopher Jason and Tabatha Chandler, all of Staunton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pattie C. Chandler and Terry Linda and Chris Beverley of Goode, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Chandler; a brother-in-law, John W. Maddox, Jr.; grandchildren, Frankie Chandler, Amanda Chandler Miller, Christopher, Caylaih, Cyleigh Chandler, Seth Chandler, Dale and Jessica Reynolds; and two great grandchildren, Carlee Elizabeth Chandler and Lawson Howard Davis Miller. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, in Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren by Pastor Timmy Woodson.  A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at his son’s residence, 36 Misty Dawn Lane, Staunton. Memorials may be made to the Virginia Veterans Care Center, 4550 Shenandoah Avenue NW, Roanoke, VA, 24017.
