STAUNTON, VA… Ida Harrison Moore, 86, of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Augusta Health. She was born January 29, 1930 in Kinston, NC, a daughter of the late Saul E. and Bettie Harrison (Wilcox) Moore. She was raised by the Masonic Home for Children, Oxford, NC after her father passed away. She received her nurses training in Fairmont, WV, where she met and married Raymond E. Borrell. She retired from the former King’s Daughters’ Hospital where she was a laboratory technician. She loved sewing and recording and sharing movies with her family and friends. Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary B. “Winnie” and Gary Moats of Verona and Leslie B. and Rolf Brunner of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Martina Frances Brunner of Staunton, Heidi Frieda Brunner of Switzerland, and Steven Wayne Moats and his girlfriend, Brittany Thorne, both of Verona; and a sister-in-law, Annie Lee Moore of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Saul E. “Hoosie” Moore, Jr. and Rodger A. Moore; three sisters, Weta Austin, Mary Janice Kornegay, and Betty Jean Johnson; and the father of her children, Raymond Eugene Borrell. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the funeral home chapel by the Rev. Beth McCrary.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Maplewood Cemetery in Kinston, NC. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Rodney Hurt and the caring staff at Augusta Health. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565.
