ISAAC E. SWISHER, JR. STAUNTON, VA Isaac Epharm Swisher, Jr., 86, widower of Edith Vivian (Fitzgerald) Swisher, of 810 West Liberty Street, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at King's Daughters' Health and Rehab Center. He was born on March 6, 1927, in Augusta County, a son of the late Isaac Epharm, Sr., and Alice Lee (Cash) Swisher. Mr. Swisher served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired with 26 years of service from McQuay International. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #2216, D.A.V, Purple Heart Rec., and N.R.A. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Donna Swisher of Waynesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Joe Armstrong of Lone Fountain; a sister and brother-in-law, Margann and Forester Wright of Staunton; four grandchildren, Scott Armstrong and wife, Samantha, Lance Armstrong and wife, Christina, Kevin Swisher, and Kristen Swisher; three great grandchildren, Austin Armstrong, Josef Armstrong, and Jaxson Dulaney; and a step great grandson, Robby Knupp. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence Swisher, Leonard H. Swisher, and Richard "Bobby" Swisher; and three sisters, Elizabeth Ryan, Jerleen Dunsmore, and Peggy Cline. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dennis Sites. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Darell Leach, Gary Corbett, Tommy Corbett, Lance Armstrong, Scott Armstrong, and Kevin Swisher. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad, 1601 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
