JACK M. SMITH STAUNTON, VA… Jack Maynard Smith, 90, husband of 28 years of Evelyn (Smith) Smith, of Staunton, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in King’s Daughters’ Community Health and Rehab Center. He was born January 26, 1927 in Harvey, West Virginia, a son of the late Herbert Joseph and Mary Frances (Smith) Smith. Mr. Smith was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Jack retired from DuPont after 39 years. He was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, Augusta-Staunton VFW Post #2216, and the American Legion. In addition to his wife, family members include three sons, Jack Wayne Smith, Geary Duane Smith, and Glen Edward Smith; two step-sons, Sterling Blackwell and Mack Blackwell; a step-daughter, Debbie B. Faught; a number of grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.    Jack was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Betty (Fortney) Smith.  He was the last of his immediate family. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp.  Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.  Active Pallbearers will be Jonathan Smith, David Smith, Timothy Smith, Tony Smith, George Simpson, and Randall Jolly. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1614 W.
