JAMES C. BURRIS, II WAYNESBORO, VA James Craig Burris, II, 62, husband of Heather Jackson Burris, of 104 Patriot Drive, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Augusta Health. He was born on August 17, 1950, in Asheboro, NC, a son of the late James Craig Burris and Vera Ingold Godwin. Mr. Burris served in the Army National Guard for 21 years. He was the facilities manager at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he served on the United Methodist Men, Outreach Committee and the We Care Ministry. He was also active with the Valley Mission. In addition to his wife, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James Craig, III and Becky Burris of Ridgeway; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Bryan Cutherbertson of Ridgeway; two step children, Christian Ina Taylor and John Michael Taylor, at home; five grandchildren, Adam, Delaney, Allison, Anna, and Abigail; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sana and David Shucart, Blair and Rich Hanes, both of St. Louis, MO, and Anderson and Steve Smith of Seagrove, NC; an aunt and uncle, Polly and Pete Newlen of Trinity, NC; five nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Daniel MacDonald of Highpoint, NC. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Staunton by the Rev. Robert H. "Rob" Woodfin, II. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Valley Mission, 640 North Coalter Street, Staunton. Jim has gifted his body to the State Anatomical Board. Henry Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
