James Franklin Cash Ii

James Franklin Cash II, 58, husband of Donna (Glenn) Cash, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 16, 2017 in the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born December 7, 1958 in Staunton, a son of Elaine Cash Duken and the late James Franklin Cash. Mr. Cash was a past officer with the Staunton Police Department with 16 years of service.  James did heating and air conditioning work all his life, beginning at Augusta Sheet Metal and lastly at VMRC.  He was a member of the Blue Ridge Corvette Club.  He was a banjo player in the Calvary Grass Gospel Band.  James was a ham radio operator and loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a lifelong Carolina Panthers fan and formerly taught motorcycle safety at Blue Ridge Community College. In addition to his mother and wife of 29 years, family members include four children, Chris Glenn, Tommy Simmons and wife, Mandy, James Cash III and fiancé, Brandy, and Angelica Cash; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Bruce Hoge Brooks, Gayle and Scott Cash, and Debra and Gary Bibens; seven grandchildren, Ronnie, Thomas, and Alexis Simmons, Jayden and Penelope Cash, and Kayla and Andrew Glenn; special in-laws, Sam and Loraine Glenn; a sister-in-law, Carol Craig; and his canine companions, Bella, Badger, T-Bone, Lilly and Chubbs.   The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Chris Glenn, Tommy Simmons, James Cash III, Mark Woods, Neil Kester, and Timmy Snyder. Honorary pallbearer will be Ron Botkin. Special thanks to his nurse and friend, Faith Martin.
