STAUNTON, VA…              James Carlyle Crosby, 88, of 524 Cedar Green Road, died at his home Friday, June 17, 2016.  Born in Staunton on December 3, 1927, he was the son of Lloyd Henkel and Lilly Rosen Crosby.              He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Brown Crosby; a sister, Barbara Crosby Meyerhoeffer and husband David of Owasso, Oklahoma; a son, Harry H. Crosby and wife, Beverley of Staunton; two daughters, Barbara Crosby Damico and husband, Larry of Staunton; Nancy Crosby Preston and husband, Matthew of  Putney, Vermont; grandchildren Annica Damico, William and Tara Crosby, James and Amanda Crosby, Maggie and Kyle Edwards, Olivia Damico, Lily Damico, Aaron Crosby, Julian Preston, James Preston; and two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Scarlett Crosby.              Mr. Crosby graduated from Beverley Manor High School in 1947.  He was engaged in farming his entire life and owned and operated Cros-B-Crest Farm.  He was a member of the Staunton Lodge #13 A.F. &A. Masons; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and Acca Temple Shriners.   He served his country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.               The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Henry Funeral Home, Staunton.              A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. David Shearer.  Burial will be private.              The family wishes to thank special caregivers Amanda Young, Karen Michael, Leslie Scheffel, Tammy Coyner, Raeleene Beaudine and Glenna Jones for their compassion and care.              Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
