James Mason Gill

JAMES M. GILL STAUNTON, VA James Mason Gill, 52, of 813 E. Beverley Street, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born February 10, 1960, in West Virginia, a son of Hilda (Byer) Bates and the late Mason Julian Gill. He was a self-employed landscaper. He was an avid Redskin, NASCAR, and softball fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobbies included cooking, gardening, and was an avid outdoorsman. He never met a stranger and will be sadly missed. Family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Chris Lame of Virginia Beach and Melissa Gill of Timberville; four brothers, Bobby Gill, Billy Gill, and Keith Byer, all of Richmond, and Arlan Bates, Jr., of Covington; four grandchildren; and his beloved fiance and caregiver, Marie Licwinko. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Green Hill Cemetery. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
