JAMES L. KENNEDY, JR.  Staunton, VA… James Leslie Kennedy, Jr., 64, of Staunton, died on Sunday, February 18, 2018.He was born on September 19, 1954 in Charlottesville.Mr. Kennedy retired after 35 years as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and also showing Arabian horses.Family members include his mother and step-father, Jacqueline (Dunn) Gergen and John Gergen; his beloved companion, Mary Wilhelm; a son, Allen Kennedy; and siblings, Susan Horner, Stephanie Kerr, J. Peter Gergen, Mark P. Gergen, James Gergen, Michael Gergen,  Constance Lowe, Karl Kennedy, Kenneth Kennedy, and Keith Kennedy.He was preceded in death by his father, James Leslie Kennedy, Sr. and a sister, Elizabeth Anne Kennedy Wechsler.    A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Steve Traylor.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.  Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the Augusta Regional S.P.C.A., P.O.
