James Charles Lunsford

RAPHINE, VA... James Charles Lunsford, 87, husband of Polly (Buchanan) Lunsford, of Raphine Road, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Augusta Health. He was born on August 15, 1928 in Raphine, a son of the late Price Gilford, Sr. and Pauline (Marks) Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford was a truck driver for 35 years. He is survived by two sons, Sam Lunsford and his wife, Sharon, of Raphine and Ed Lunsford of Stuarts Draft; two grandchildren, Samuel Lunsford, Jr. and Polly V. Clark; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Clark. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in the funeral home.
