James Harrison Marcum

JAMES H. MARCUM STAUNTON, VA James Harrison Marcum, 71, of 512 Houston Street, died Monday, April 30, 2012, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born April 24, 1941, in Virginia a son of the late Fred and Frances (Marshall) Marcum. Prior to retirement, Mr. Marcum was employed by the Department of Forestry in West Virginia. Family members include two daughters, Sarah Maree of Michigan and Maggie Hatfield of Kentucky; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Joyce Sue Marcum of West Virginia; grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a niece, Lynda Knox; a nephew, Joey Marcum; and friends, Michele R. Ashworth and Betty Newsome. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Robert Marcum; and a special friend, Betty Demsey. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kevin Persinger. Burial will follow in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Melvin Lawhorn, Larry Lawhorn, Wayne Puffenbarger, John Meade, Daniel Austin, and Ron Knox.
