James Montaque Michael

JAMES M. MICHAEL CHURCHVILLE, VA James Montague Michael, 85, husband of Jean (Malcolm) Michael of 2294 Scenic Highway, Churchville, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born September 23, 1926 in Augusta County, a son of the late Samuel Eli and Hazel (Michael) Michael. Mr. Michael was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Prior to retirement in 1979, he had been employed by Bell Atlantic Telephone Company. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 13 for 60 years and the Scottish Rite of Richmond. He was a member of Parnassas United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 67 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. and Bettie Michael; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly J. and James Dunkum of Staunton; a brother, F. L. Michael of Virginia Beach; and a grandchild, Shannon B. Ryder. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ted, George, and Norman E. Michael and sister, Juanita Tutwiler. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Glen Langston. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
