JAMES W. MOORE, JR. WAYNESBORO, VA James William Moore, Jr., 82, husband of Mildred (Meyerhoeffer) Moore, of 30 Hunters Trail, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in Birch Gardens, Staunton. He was born June 23, 1930, in Augusta County, a son of the late James W., Sr., and Willie Thelma (Hevener) Moore. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Mechanical engineering. He enjoyed golfing, wood working and spending time with family. Prior to retirement, Mr. Moore was employed by Reynolds Metals in Grottoes with 32 years of service. He was a life-long and devoted member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 61 years, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, James W. III and Pamela Snider Moore of Stuarts Draft and Gary Edward and Bonnie Tamres Moore of Austin, Texas; a brother, Thomas Wayne Moore of Fishersville; two sisters, Polly Moore Robertson and Nancy Moore Fosie, both of Winter Haven, Florida; and a grandson, Kevin Andrew Moore and his wife, Katie Ravenbark, of Raleigh, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Alan Moore. A funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, in the Fishersville United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Jent and Rev. Ryan Oswald. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be James Beach, Rick Herron, Emory Harris, Julian Via, Hugh Baldwin, Kevin Moore, and Henry Curd. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fishersville United Methodist Church, CBF Class. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939 or to the Fishersville United Methodist Church, CBF Class, 1600 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, VA 22939.
