Janet Florene Runion

JANET C. RUNIONHARRISONBURG, VA…    Janet Florene (Carson) Runion, 88, widow of James E. Runion, of Harrisonburg, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab Center. She was born October 17, 1927, in Harrisonburg, a daughter of the late Roy S. and Oma (Shaver) Carson. Family members include a son and a daughter-in-law, James J. “Buck” and Phyllis Runion of Broadway; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Billy Whetzel of Broadway; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin and Howard Carson and three sisters, Ruby Runion, Frances Sheets, and Hilda Harris.  A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Runion Memorial Fund, c/o Tammy Whetzel, 249 Telluride Drive, Broadway, VA 22815.  Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
