JEAN T. ALLEY STAUNTON, VA Jean Matilda (Thompson) Alley, 90, widow of Paul Levi Alley, of 512 Houston Street, died Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Envoy of Staunton. She was born December 9, 1920 in Steeles Tavern a daughter of the late William W. and Carrie M. (Earhart) Thompson. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Alley was employed by Fiberspun Inc. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a granddaughter. She was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, James A. and Susan Alley of Nashville, Tennessee and Jerry W. and Barbara Alley of Swoope; a nephew, Elmer Gill and his wife, Evelyn of Staunton; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, in Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Alley. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home.
