JEAN S. HOSTETTER MIDDLEBROOK, VA Jean Loretta (Smiley) Hostetter, 74, widow of Jack W. Hostetter, of 1528 Broadhead School Road, died Friday, February 8, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 8, 1938, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late John W. and Ethel E. (Smith) Smiley. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hostetter was employed by DuPont with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Old Providence ARP Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Ray Hostetter; five brothers, Hansford, Bob, Tom, Jim, and Joe Smiley; and a sister, Mary Ann Smiley. Family members include two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Jerry Lemons of Reidsville, North Carolina and Tammy Kaye and fiancé`, Wayne Gibson, of Middlebrook; a brother, Roy "Buddy" Smiley of Greenville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Judith Mae Smiley of Greenville and Ruby and Jeff Barnett of Staunton; two grandchildren, Houston and Scarlett Lemons of Reidsville, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Judy Jo Smiley of Spottswood, Hazel Smiley of Staunton, and Mary Ann Magann and her husband, Paul, of New Hill, North Carolina; nieces, Maria and Robert Dzuba , Diahanna and Tony Redifer, and Sarah and Kirk Barnett, who called her "Maw Maw Jean"; great nieces and nephews; special friends, Ruth Myrtle, Lashawn and Erin Painter; and special critters, Henry, Little Bitty, Lucy, and Jazzie. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in Old Providence ARP Church by the Rev. H. Max Bolin. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Barnett, Robert Dzuba, Rob Dzuba, Kirk Barnett, Jamie Rediffer, Tony Truslow, and Tony Redifer. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
