JEAN W. MANNING STAUNTON, VA… Jean Delores (Wilson) Manning, 80, wife of Robert Douglas Manning, of Staunton, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born December 3, 1937 in Martinsville, a daughter of the late Joseph Melvin and Elva Delores (Joyce) Wilson. Jean was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and an active Christian winning many to Christ. She was a Girl Scout leader, member of AGLOW, and active with Doug’s activities with School Board and City Council. In addition to her husband, family members include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Catherine Manning of Austell, GA, Debra and Todd McFarland of Winchester, Jean and Eric Spath of Staunton, and Joanna and Troy Bell of Mooresville, NC; six grandchildren, Brian Blake and Brittany Thorpe of Stephens City, Amanda Blake and Sean Roy of Winchester, Nathaniel Bradley and Cara Bowman of Staunton, Douglas and Lauren Bradley of Moneta, Amy and Brad Shelley of Fairfield, OH, Jackson Bell serving in the U.S. Air Force in South Korea, and Nicholas Bell of Mooresville, NC; and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold W. "Pete" Campbell.
