JERRY LYNN KNICLEY STAUNTON, VA…Jerry Lynn Knicley, 69, of Staunton died at the Medical College of Virginia on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.  Mr. Knicley was born August 10, 1946, the son of Herbert Bydler Knicley and Doris (Nutty) Knicley.  He was a graduate of James Madison University and was employed as an Accountant at Smith’s Transfer Corporation and Western State Hospital.He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Staunton, where he served on the Session and was Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee.  For many years he was teacher and President of First Presbyterian Church’s Covenant Fellowship Class. He was a member of the Staunton Lions Club where he served as President, and as a member of the Board.  He was recipient of the club’s Lion of the Year Award in 2003 given in recognition of outstanding service, loyalty and devotion to Lionism and the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian services.  He also served as President of the Staunton Exchange Club.  Jerry’s many acts of kindness will be missed not only by these organizations but by his many friends. He is survived by his wife Fay (Lyle) Knicley, a brother Roger Dean Knicley and his wife Angie, a sister Faye Knicley Shifflett and her husband Kenneth, and several nieces and nephews.A private burial service will take place at Thornrose Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. conducted by the Reverend Karen Henn Allamon.  A reception will follow the service. Memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 100 E. Frederick Street, Staunton, VA 24401. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
