Jesse Glenn Gwin

JESSE G. GWIN VERONA, VA Jesse Glenn Gwin, 78, widower of Shirley Gwin, of 6 Kelford Street, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born January 4, 1934, in Staunton a son of the late Jesse James and Lorena E. (Thomas) Gwin. Prior to retirement, Mr. Gwin was employed by Dixie Gas and Oil Company with 27 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Jesse James, II, and Mitzi Gwin of Fishersville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita Gwin of Verona and Debbie and Mike Sorrells of Grottoes; a sister, Joyce Watts of Staunton; four grandchildren, Natasha Keyser, Breeanna Gwin, Michael Sorrells, and Matthew Sorrells; and two great grandchildren, Kayla Keyser and Cameron Keyser. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted by Brother Jenson. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be members of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, P.O. Box 937, Verona, VA 24482. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
