Jesse Tyler Shorter

JESSE T. SHORTER STAUNTON, VA Jesse Tyler Shorter, 90, husband of Ruth (Riggins) Shorter of 415 Cardinal Street, passed away Sunday morning, April 7, 2013, at Augusta Health. He was born on July 3, 1922, in Henry County, to the late Tyler King and Nancy Emma (Minter) Shorter. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and retired from ASR after 29 ½ years as a tool and die maker. In addition to his wife of 68 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Claire Shorter of Valdosta, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Ernest Prater of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Steven Edward Prater, Sarah Louise McLaughlin, and Tyler Jesse Shorter; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Dawn McLaughlin and Allie Siobhan McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Family will have a private service. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
