Jo Ann Galvin

JO ANN GALVIN CHURCHVILLE, VA Jo Ann Galvin of Churchville, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. She was born in Brownfield, Pennsylvania, the only child of Andrew and Camilla Meosky on September 4, 1941. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald E. Galvin; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Galvin and husband, Chris Robinson, of Leesburg, Virginia; a son, Eric Todd Galvin and special friend, Sheighla Friel, of Fairfax; a grandson, Travis Mathew Galvin and a granddaughter, Taylor Brook Galvin, both of Fredericksburg. She's a graduate of South Union High School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, Pennsylvania, where she recently celebrated her 50th class reunion. She worked at WVU Medical Center, Northern Virginia Doctor's Hospital, and Alexandria Hospital for 20 years in the NICU. In 1985, she began working for Fairfax County Schools. After moving to Churchville in 1996, she worked at the Staunton City School Board Office as a part-time receptionist. A memorial service will be held at Loch Willow Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, conducted by Rev. Reed Hopkins. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial gifts be sent to The Choir Fund, Loch Willow Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 85, Churchville, VA 24421. Jo Ann will be greatly missed and was loved by many friends, church friends, and most especially her family. Special thanks go to the Hematology/Oncology Team at UVA, especially Dr. Michael Williams, Dr. Michael Douvaus, and Kim Leake, NP, and to Legacy Hospice.
