JOANNE ELIZABETH HODGES STAUNTON, VA… Joanne Elizabeth (Rhodes) Hodges, 82, wife of Joe D. Hodges, Sr., of 404 Ann Street, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at her residence. She was born April 29, 1934, in Covington, daughter of the late Joseph William, Sr., and Irene Elizabeth (Doss) Rhodes. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hodges was employed by the City of Staunton. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe D., “Joey” Jr., and Paula L. Hodges of Orlando, Florida and David Neal Hodges and his fiancée`, Deana Walker of Casselberry, Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph W., Jr., and Betty Jean Rhodes of Roanoke; a brother-in-law, Ronald Leroy Potter, Sr. of Covington; a sister-in-law, Marlene Rhodes; and two grandchildren, Anna Louise and husband, Michael Leo Skupin of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and Joe D. “Joey” Hodges, III of Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles William Rhodes and a sister, Joyce Lee Potter. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, in St. John’s United Methodist Church by the Rev. Taylor C. Mertins. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Leonard Hodges, Roddy Hodges, Bill Hodges, Steve Hodges, Eric Cobb, Edwin Eagle, Bryan Rankin, and Billy Sayre.
