JOANNE P. INGALLS STAUNTON, VA Joanne Rose (Paskins) Ingalls, 86, widow of Daniel H.H. Ingalls, of 316 East Beverley Street, Staunton, died September 1, 2014, at her home after a brief illness. She was born May 5, 1928, in Chicago, the only child of the late John C. and Rose (Vance) Paskins. She spent her early years in Riverside, Illinois, and graduated from Lake Forest College in 1949. She worked for a time for WGN in Chicago, before marrying John D. Kreuter in 1951. They remained in Chicago, where her first daughter Barbara was born in 1953, before moving to New Hope, Pennsylvania, where a second daughter, Katherine, was born in 1956. When her children grew up, she worked in her husband's business until they retired and moved to Bath County, Virginia, in 1987. Upon the death of her first husband in 1992, she remarried Daniel H.H. Ingalls, also of Hot Springs, whose own death followed in 1999. She moved from Bath County to Staunton in 2007, where she pursued her life-long interests in gardening, knitting, reading, entertaining, travel and bridge. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal. She is survived by her two daughters. Private memorial services will be arranged through Henry Funeral Home, and there will be a celebration of her life at her home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Those who wish to attend should RSVP [email protected] Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Trinity Episcopal Church, Staunton.
