JOHN R. BREEDEN STAUNTON, VA.. John Roger Breeden, 69, husband of Helen Terry Breeden, of 1594 Parkersburg Turnpike, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his son's residence. He was born January 28, 1943, in New Hope, a son of the late John Henry and Eveline Florence (Bunch) Breeden. Prior to retirement, Mr. Breeden was employed by the State Highway Department with 30 years of service. In addition to his wife of 43 years, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Nioka Breeden and Olen Lee, Jr., and Alisa Bennett of Waynesboro; five daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia Breeden and her roommate, Sonya Bartley of Staunton, Debra and J. W. Painter of Verona, Olenia Kay Bennett of Timberville, Kimberley Dawn Bennett of Fulks Run, Alice Morris of Staunton; two sisters, Dorothy Caricofe of New Hope and Elizabeth Bryant of Falls Church; a granddaughter, who he raised, Stephanie Caricofe; a grandson, who he helped raised, Christopher Breeden; twenty-six other grandchildren; and fifty-one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Breeden and Donald Breeden. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russell L. Heinrich. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and other times at the home of his son, Darrell Breeden, 1006 Eidson Creek Road, Staunton.
