John William Brooks

JOHN W. BROOKS MT. SIDNEY, VA John William Brooks, 66, husband of Jennifer Shreckhise Brooks of 748 Todd Road, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at his residence. He was born October 29, 1947, in Staunton, a son of the late Edwin Dudley and Ann Katherine (Hawpe) Brooks. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Central Tire in Verona with 48 years of service. Mr. Brooks attended Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church. He had a passion for riding his Harley and car racing. In addition to his wife, family members include two sons, John Dudley Brooks and Allen Richard Brooks and wife, Kristine; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Abby, and Lilly Brooks and Dylan, William, and Katie Brooks; and two sisters, Ann Dudley Luck and husband, Richard, and Katherine Brooks Nadeau and partner, John Snead. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. John Crawford, III followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
