GOSHEN, VA John G. Davidson, 86, of Goshen, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1928 in Staunton, a son of the late Robert Edmund and Gunhild Amundson Vang Davidson. Mr. Davidson was the owner and operator of Davidson Logging for fifty years. He was also a welder, mechanic and a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Harriet (Griffith) Davidson; two brothers, Sam Davidson, III and Robert Ed Davidson, Jr; two sisters, Helen D. Engleman and Gunhild D. Anderson; and a step daughter, Evelyn Louis. Survivors include a son, Matthew Davidson; two daughters, Kitty Davidson and April Davidson-Bowers; a step daughter, Eloise Webb; his wife, Lila (Hall) Davidson; and four grandchildren, Sean, Jeffrey, Mark and Anna. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Craigsville Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Railroad Avenue, Craigsville, VA, by Rev. Gwen Carr and Dr. Jan Owen.
