JOHN D. FOSTER, JR. STAUNTON, VA John Dudley "Butch" Foster Jr., 77, husband of Doris J. Foster of 1115 Stoneburner St., died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 17, 1936, in Augusta County, son of the late John D. Foster Sr. and Myrtle L. Jenkins. Mr. Foster was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from American Safety Razor and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed going to car shows in his 1955 red wagon and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Nancy Foster; step-father, Edward Jenkins; a sister, Joyce Alphin; and best friend, Bobby Owens. He was proud of being a direct descendent of Abraham Lincoln. Family members include two sons, James P. Foster and Robbie Sauls; two daughters, Brenda L. Holland and Tina M. Dotson; a son-in-law, Ricky; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Barber and Barbara Cooke, two brothers, Bobby and Edgar Jenkins, all of Maryland; and special friends, Charles Arehart, Muhammed Mashhadi, and Hamed Abouzied. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013, in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Graveside rites will be given by Augusta-Staunton VFW Post #2216. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Dotson, Kenneth Holland, Calvin Harstook, Jason Hottel, Mark Harris, and Muhammed Mashhadi. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. A special thank you to everyone from Hospice of the Shenandoah.
