John Olen Karicofe

JOHN O. KARICOFE STAUNTON, VA John Olen Karicofe, 61, husband of Mary Thompson Karicofe, of 708 Quick's Mill Road, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at his residence. He was born April 13, 1950, in Harrisonburg, a son of the late Olen Abe and Beatrice Frances (Adams) Karicofe. Mr. Karicofe was a member of the National Guard. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Virginia Department of Transportation with 45 years of service. He was a member of Verona United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of 40 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lorena Karicofe of Verona; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Bradford Landes of Verona; and a grandchild, Trevor Landes. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Robert J. Weeks and David Burch. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Rick Fauber, Harold Cash, Bradford Landes, Allen Redifer, Bill Sullivan, and Wayne Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from VDOT. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
