Mt. Sidney… John William Sensabaugh, 84, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at UVA Medical Center. Mr. Sensabaugh was born on April 19, 1934 in Raphine to the late John Luther and Myrtle Elizabeth (Stoner) Sensabaugh. He graduated from Mt. Sidney High School in 1951. He retired from A.S.R. in the shipping and receiving division. John was a member of Mt. Sidney UMC and attended Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church.  He coached youth basketball in his early years. He enjoyed traveling and attending many churches with his special friend Marie. He was a very kind man who never met a stranger. Surviving family members include three nephews, Woody Hays and wife Penny of Waynesboro, Kirk Knott of Waynesboro, and Dale Knott and his wife Janice of Grottoes; a niece, Carol Mitchell and husband Shan of Staunton; six great nieces and nephews, Lori, Kristi, Anna, Quinton, Zack, and Sammy; and a longtime special friend, Marie Allen of Fishersville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Hays and Helen Knott. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church by Rev. William Strickler. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Woody Hays, Kirk Knott, Dale Knott, Sammy Knott, David Brubaker and Shan Mitchell. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 AM at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Sidney UMC, P. O. Box 284, Mt. Sidney, VA, 24467 or Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church, 27 Lee Jackson Highway, Verona, VA, 24482. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
