John Richard Stoutamyer

JOHN R. STOUTAMYER STAUNTON - John Richard Stoutamyer, husband of Rose Marie (Swortzel) Stoutamyer passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 in Augusta Health. He was the son of the late Wilda Howdyshell. In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Nunnelee of Wilmington, NC and granddaughter, Ann Marie Nunnelee of Elon, NC; daughter, Mindy Cummings of Hickory, NC; granddaughter, Hannah Cummings of Charleston, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Stoutamyer of Mt. Solon; and a very special nephew and niece, Gary and Jane Stoutamyer of Mt. Solon. He was employed with DuPont of Waynesboro for forty-one years. John was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated Nascar fan and avid reader. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Henry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 in Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor DeBorah Barnwell.
