JOHN W. TAYLOR II STAUNTON, VA John William Taylor II, age 63, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2014. He is survived by his three sisters, Sue Shiflet (Rick), Ann Hewitt (Neal), and Gay Ranson (Bill); also five nieces and nephews, Eric, Darby, Ben, Clint and Dayna. He also leaves seven great nephews and one great niece. John was preceded in death by his loving parents Rev. William L. Taylor and wife, Grace. John was a 1971 graduate of VSDB in Staunton, Va. He was an avid golfer winning several local tournaments through the years. A sports enthusiast for many years, he enjoyed serving as referee for many local games. He was a draftsman alongside his father for several years at Taylor Drafting Service, was formerly at VSDB as a Houseparent, and was employed at Marvel in Bridgewater. There will be a private family graveside service in Augusta Memorial Park followed by a public memorial service conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 1716 N. Augusta Street, Staunton, by the Rev. Taylor Mertins. Memorials may be made to the Staunton Public Library, 1 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401 or the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O.
