JON J. MCGONIGAL STAUNTON Jon James McGonigal, age 70, wife of Marilyn McGonical of 1500 North Coalter Street, died Saturday morning, November 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1942, son of the late James and Emilie (Fieg) McGonigal, in Oneonta, New York. Prior to retirement, Mr. McGonigal was a custodian at Hartwick College for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing with his grandson and cutting grass with his John Deere tractor. He was a participant of River Street Baptist Church in New York. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Larry Bailey of New York; two step-sons, Dave Fineout of Staunton and Darryl Fineout of New York; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Mary) McGonigal of New York; two grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Bailey, Zachary (Tammy) Bailey; three great grandchildren, Lennon, Abbey, and Lucy Bailey, all of New York; five step-grandchildren; two nephews, Tyler (Julia) McGonigal and Kyle McGonigal; a great niece, Emilie McGonigal; two special friends, Janice and Bill Scutt; two aunts, Maxine (Robert) Whiteside and Jean Fieg; and many special cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGonigal is predeceased by a brother, Thomas McGonigal. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in the Bookhout Funeral Home Chapel, by the Pastor Mel Farmer. Interment will follow at Plains Cemetery in Oneonta, New York. Active pallbearers are Justin Bailey, Zachary Bailey, Darryl Fineout, Robert McGonigal, Larry Bailey, Danny Scutt, and Devon Fineout. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to River Street Baptist Church, 133 River Street, Oneonta, New York, 13820.
