J. PHILIP KNOPP CHURCHVILLE, VA Joseph Philip Knopp, 86, husband of Judith (Lawrence) Knopp, of Churchville, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center, Staunton. He was born July 9, 1926, in Staunton, a son of the late George and Bessie (Black) Knopp. Prior to retirement, Mr. Knopp was a builder and CEO of Knopp Enterprises. In addition to his wife, Judith, family members include a daughter, Carolyn Neisse of Reston; a granddaughter, Brooke Marrelli and her husband, John, of Reston; two great grandchildren, Bianca and Mauro; a brother, Daniel Knopp; a sister, Anna Ruth Rathburn of Staunton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee (Senelle) Knopp; five brothers; and three sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, in Thornrose Cemetery by the Murphy Terry, Chaplain of Legacy Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home.
