Joseph Kennan Koogler

STAUNTON, VA Joseph Kennan Koogler, 84, husband of Edith (Roadcap) Koogler, of Staunton, died Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Envoy of Staunton. He was born December 6, 1930, in Augusta County, a son of the late Harry C. and Irene (Stoner) Koogler. Mr. Koogler was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Stanley Furniture with 31 years of service. Following retirement he was employed by Kroger, Food Lion, and Walmart. He was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren. In addition to his wife, family members include a step-daughter, Brenda Kay Barnes and husband, Gary, of Waynesboro; one step-grandson, Matthew Nicholas Barnes; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie Kay Koiner; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015, in Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery by Pastor Galen Combs. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
