Joyce Marie Shiflett

JOYCE S. SHIFLETT STAUNTON, VA Joyce Marie (Strickler) Shiflett, 54, wife of James A. Shiflett, of 232 Kalorama Street, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born November 6, 1957, in Middlebrook a daughter of Viola (Johnson) Strickler and the late Norman Ray Strickler. Mrs. Shiflett was employed by Emeritus. In addition to her mother and husband of 38 years, family members include, a son and daughter-in-law, James L., Sr., and Wanda Shiflett of Montebello; two brothers, Walter Strickler of Waynesboro and Samuel Strickler of Staunton; two sisters, Dorothy Strickler of Staunton and Ella Strickler Oscar of Natural Bridge; and five grandchildren, J. J., Cody, Nathan, and Summer Shiflett, and Angel Chittum. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. Shiflett, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Billy Coffey. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Henry Funeral Home ( www.henryfuneralhome.net ).
