JULIA M. ELLIS FISHERSVILLE, VA Julia Ann (Millar) Ellis, 94, of 500 C Street, Staunton, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah. She was born on November 27, 1920 in Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter of the late Edwin Vause and Volunta (Kump) Millar. Mrs. Ellis was a school teacher for 15 years. She was later employed by Riggs National Bank. She was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Waynesboro Daughters of the American Revolution. Julia worked in the War Department for the Army Security Agency during WWII. Surviving family members include a daughter, Julia Rusmisel of Staunton; two grandchildren, Judy Sorrells and her husband, Chris, of Verona and John Rusmisel and his wife, Dana McClanahan of Staunton; two great grandchildren, Christian Sorrells and Kaleigh Joy McClanahan-Rusmisel; two sisters, Nancy Lewis and Margaret Hammer, both of Winchester; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Lee Thomas. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
