JULIA T. SCALIO STAUNTON, VA Julia Annette (Tarasi) Scalio, 78, wife of Lawrence L. Scalio, of Staunton, died Monday, July 14, 2014, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was the love of his life for 58 years and will be dearly missed. It was and always will be love at first sight. She was born January 28, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Pauline (Marchak) Tarasi. In addition to her husband, family members include a brother, Paul Tarasi of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mary Ploschenski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Shannon A. Scalio and Juliet Marie Scalio Booth; and a great grandson, Jack Rebholz. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Marie Scalio; and a brother, John "Sonny" Tarasi. She was an adventurous, intelligent, witty, and independent matriarch of the Scalio family. All services will be private. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
